Hebrews 9:12
He entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of
goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption.

HIGHLIGHTS
Puerto Rico Mission Trip
The “Yard Sale with a Twist” in March raised over
$700 which may be matched by Thrivent. The community event was well received,
and one participant even commented on how helpful you guys and gals were. A
garage sale with the leftovers and additional items collected is set for Saturday,
March 31, at the McCarthys’, 1623 SW Gregor Way, Stuart, to raise
additional funds. PUERTO RICO
participants must be there!
Palm Sunday at
the Park. On Palm Sunday, we will be helping with
face painting and the Easter Egg Hunt at Indian Riverside Park. Please sign up
in the Youth Book by March 28 so you can be contacted with further
details and service times. Also, just for you and your friends, we are having
the first annual EGG OLYMPICS. Fun games,
races, and challenges; and the winner gets a trophy to keep and pass down next
year. No sign-up necessary; just show up on April 1st ready to
compete.
Easter
Breakfast. We will again be preparing and serving Easter breakfast
for our members and visitors. This annual event fosters fellowship, and the
proceeds will help fund the youth’s Puerto Rico mission trip. Lots of
volunteers are needed to help set up, prepare and serve the meal, and clean up.
Sign up in the Youth Book and indicate when you can work. The meal is served
7:30-10:30 a.m., but help is needed before and after as well. A list of items
needed is included in April’s issue of the Messenger.
It’s what’s on the
inside that counts!
Dwell on it
What does it mean to be (RED)EEMED?
If
you look it up, you will find many meanings and usages for the word redeem, redeemed,
or redeeming:
1.
To recover ownership
of by paying a specified sum
2.
To pay off (a
promissory note, for example)
3.
To turn in (coupons,
for example) and receive something in exchange
4.
To fulfill (a pledge,
for example)
5.
To set free; rescue
or ransom
6.
To save from a state
of sinfulness and its consequences
7.
To make up for
8.
To restore the honor,
worth, or reputation of
As I pondered these
definitions, I was amazed at how every definition related to our life as
Christians. Read these verses to find out more and get into the Word:
1.
Galatians 4:4 -
Christ has ownership of us because He died on the cross to pay for our sin.
2.
Hebrews 9:11-28 -
Christ was the final offering of atonement for our sin.
3.
Romans 3:22-26 - Our
sinfulness is exchanged for full forgiveness and new life.
4.
2 Corinthians 1:20 -
God fulfilled His promise to save us.
5.
Colossians 1:13-14 - Christ freed us from the
power of the devil.
6.
Revelation 1:5-6 - We
have been given eternal life and saved from eternal damnation.
7.
Galatians 3:13-14 -
Christ lived the perfect life that we cannot live.
8.
Luke 21:25-28 - God’s
power, strength, and majesty made known for all to see.

God is so good!
Family Moments
After this past 30-Hour Famine, I can’t wait to do it again. And next year we will do it up even bigger to feed more kids! Every dollar we raised feeds 1 child for a day, and we raised $257.00 which is being matched by a government grant 4x’s.that $1,028, (and I’m still missing some participant’s envelopes). Not bad, guys. Next year, the plans are big, so make sure you’re ready. If you want to get involved in helping to plan this please let me know. It’s your ideas that help to make things great.
Wasn’t the Canoe trip fun! I had a blast watching Monica, John, Steve, Rob, Skylar, Matt, and Seth crash into the mangroves; of course, I collided into 1 or 2 myself. This was such a great activity; I look forward to canoeing again and doing some other really fun stuff, like rock climbing.
In next month’s issue
of the “STREAM”, I would like to add
some special stories of moments in your life. Please e-mail me about stuff you
are involved in such as sports schedules, music concerts, school plays, and
whatever it is you like. Also, if you are an artist and want to display some
art work that I can cut and paste into this, that would be great.
