Monday Note Grade 1

August 23, 2004

Reading: By now you have all had readers come home and you've signed the lightning list. Keep working on the outlaws. So far we've had: in, is, was, on, an, the. We'll be starting our sounds Tuesday and things start moving along. Make sure your child is doing the reading. We'll be getting new books almost every day so they won't have a chance to memorize. This is an important time, so don't take the assignments lightly.

Math: We're working on terms such as fewest, most, least, etc. We are also going to be acting out some , some more and some, some went away stories.

Religion: We are talking about God's promise to Abraham. He is faithful to all His promises- now and forever.

SS: We are talking about families and chores. We are looking at job charts and what it means to be in a family. Also we are discussing why rules and laws are important.

Other: Remember- Holy Cross Day- September 12.

A notice went home about dropping your child off in carline. Thanks for your compliance.

Picture Day is tomorrow, Tuesday, August 23. The dress is school uniforms. Spring pictures will be dress up day.

All for now. Keep up the good work.

But those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Isaiah 40:31
